Chicagoland Studies
The Chicagoland Studies Program provides real-world experience through its summer internships. MCMA juniors and seniors are matched with positions that are meaningful, instructive and reflect their career goals. SIUC alumni who live and work in the Chicago area supervise the intern’s responsibilities. Last year MCMA students interned at companies such as Aviatrix Publishing, Inc.; Big Shoulders Digital Video Productions; Crain' s Chicago Business; Foote, Cone & Belding; Freeman Pictures; MediaMark; Paddock Publications; Panavision Chicago; Silent Partners; Motorola Cellular Infrastructure Group; and Wickes Corporation. In addition to the on-site work, students meet weekly at various downtown Chicago locations to attend seminars featuring professional speakers who address industry topics.
