MCMA Required Courses (6 Hours) 
• MCMA 201 - Media in Society  3 Hours
• MCMA 202 - Visual Literacy  3 Hours

Radio-Television Required Courses (12 Hours) 
• RT 200 - Understanding Radio/Television  3 Hours
• RT 300 - R-TV Writing, Performance, and Production  3 Hours
• RT 308 - R-TV Policies, Laws, and Regulations  3 Hours
• RT 393 - Radio, Television, and Society  3 Hours

Radio-Television Specialization Courses (9-12 Hours)
A student majoring in Radio/Television must declare a specialization in one of the three areas: News, Production (Radio/Audio or Television/Video), or Electronic Media Marketing & Management. Each specialization has required Radio/Television courses beyond RT 200, RT 300, RT 308, and RT 393.

Minor (15+ Hours)
A minor is a group of courses in one department. A Radio/Television student must select a minor outside the major. If the area of study is not available as a minor, a secondary concentration can be pursued with the approval of the academic advisor.

Foreign Language or Approved Substitute (6 – 8 hours)
This requirement is met by taking any combination of the traditional foreign language courses or the approved substitutions. The Radio/Television Academic Advisor can provide the student with the list of approved foreign languages and the foreign language substitutions.
THERE ARE SOME PREREQUISITES THAT MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE A STUDENT IS PERMITTED TO ENROLL FOR UPPER LEVEL RADIO AND TELEVISION COURSES (i.e. courses beyond MCMA 201, 202, RT 200 and RT 300)
1) B’s or better in English Composition courses, if this does occur then you will be required to take ENGL 290 and earn a "C" or better.
2) Pass RT 200 and RT 300 with a "C" or better (Each course can be repeated only once.)
